Settings → Productivity. Four tools for people who write a lot, and regularly. All off by default — switch on whichever ones actually help you.
Typewriter mode
The line you're writing stays centered on the screen; the rest of the text dims slightly.
The effect is real: your eye stops wandering and stays with the current thought. It helps most with long pieces and small screens.
Word and character count
Shows in the toolbar how much you've written. Spaces don't count toward characters.
Word-count goal
If you keep a daily writing quota (Hemingway-style, King-style, whatever style), this setting quietly tracks your progress and lets you know when you've hit it.
- Goal type: words or characters.
- Target: any number. Anything above a million triggers a warning — that's almost always a typo.
Progress shows as a blue bar down the right edge of the screen — visible without being intrusive. Spaces do count toward the goal.
As soon as you hit the target, the bar turns green. Which means: nicely done.
Timer
Length: 5, 15, 25 or 30 minutes (or off). It starts on its own the moment you begin typing, or on demand with the toolbar icon.
25 minutes is the classic Pomodoro block.
