Loknot is a minimalist notes and writing app for Android. It is built around two things: writing should feel effortless, and what you write should stay yours. Everything else follows from those.
That shapes how the app behaves. It opens straight into an empty note with the keyboard already up — no file list, no start screen. While you type the interface withdraws: the status bar disappears and only the text is left. Meanwhile the notes sit in an encrypted database on the device itself.

Formatting appears as you type, with a preview pane. Checklists, wiki links and export to .md.
Zettelkasten
Atomic notes, wiki links and backlinks — how a pile of records turns into a personal knowledge base.
Organizing notes
Folders, nested tags, pins and full-text search — plus rules that file and archive notes for you.
Sharing and export
Export to .txt, .md and .html, bundle several notes into one file, and keep password-protected local backups.
What Loknot does not do
An honest list, so you don't waste time. There is no iPhone or iPad app — Android only. A desktop version is in development and has not shipped. There is no collaboration, commenting or shared access: this is a personal notebook, not a team one. The source code is closed. Notes are not published to the web — sharing means exporting a file or sending the text to a messenger.
What it costs
The app is free: no ads, no in-app purchases, no subscription. The free edition is not cut down — everything described above is already in it. A paid Pro edition is in development and will be a separate app; the details are in Free vs Pro.
